Mr Ricketts, recently carried out a rotator cuff repair on my shoulder. Before any decisions were made regarding having the operation to repair the injury he explained what it would entail; including the risks and benefits. I felt that the decision to go ahead with the surgery was mine, although very well guided by Mr Ricketts. On the day of the operation, again he explained the procedure to myself and my wife in a very professional manner. My first post op. consultation with Mr Ricketts was a very informative one. He showed me through photographs what he had been able to do. His advice then for recovery was clear and again very informative. I would highly recommend this doctor/surgeon.

After a shoulder dislocation the pain I suffered was extreme, Mr Ricketts was very understanding and confident that surgery would cure the problem and he was right. All was done with great professionalism.

I am a retired GP and worked for thirty seven years in the NHS myself. Recently, I fractured my left arm, and was transported by wonderful Ambulance drivers to my local Minor Injuries Unit, and immediately to the Royal Sussex Hospital in Brighton. The staff there at all levels were very kind and caring, and dealt with my injury efficiently. I stayed two nights in the Acute A&E unit, before being transferred to a Rehab unit in Newhaven, which was a fabulous place to start my recovery. The staff there were terrific and the food was absolutely fabulous! Like a Private Hospital. After my discharge, I was given some Physiotherapy exercises in a virtual fracture clinic. The community Physio has visited me twice, which was very encouraging. All in all, I was very impressed with the care I received for my injury,and was discharged from the clinic by the Consultant, Dr. David Ricketts, who seemed pleased with my progress.
